Summary:

Cuts any items out of lines and replaces the lines with a single line entity.

Description:

This command behaves very similarly to the ‘Join’ function. More than one item can be 'CUT & SHUT' at a time. The only entities that will not be cut out are other lines. If the lines are on different layers, linetypes or are of different colour, the user is asked to select the desired type for the resultant line, by picking the desired option from the screen. The command also recognises colour and linetype "BYLAYER" and "BYBLOCK".

This command is ideal for cutting Valves or Contacts out of Piping or Electrical, single line drawings.

Command: CUTSHUT

Select objects: Select entities by ‘crossing’.

These lines do not have all the same attributes.

Select the master: Select a line from the group to use as the basis for the new line.
