Summary:
Displays text representing area(s) of object(s) on screen
Description:
This function allows ‘area text’ to be displayed on the screen. The user can create a selection set and have each individual area displayed, either at the geometric centre of each object or at a specified position. Alternatively, an area calculation can be performed, similar to the AutoCAD ‘Area’ function. The user can switch between ‘Add’ and ‘Subtract’ modes, select the relevant entities, and when finished can choose the position to display the total. If any of the entities are subsequently modified or deleted, the text will automatically update to represent the new area value.
Polylines, circles, ellipses and splines are all supported. Dependent on the units of the drawing, a choice of units for the area text is presented. If the text was placed at the geometric centre of an object, when the object is modified the area text ‘moves’ to the new geometric centre. If the UCS is changed, the text will be aligned to the new UCS angle.
