Adding the project specific dataset files to a project

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

Note: This section of the Project Configuration manual has significantly changed, due to the fact that CADtools now supports multiple Bentley Building products.  For those familiar with the old process, the only change is that the folder which must be copied from P: drive is now one folder further down that it used to be.

To install the project specific dataset files for one of the Bentley Building products, simply follow these steps.

1.Navigate to P:\Program Files\Oasys\CADtools_Ustn\Apps\Triforma_V8i\Project Setup\

2.Select the folder containing the desired product / layer standard combination.
e.g Select the “BSTR_ArupStructLayers” folder if you intend using Structural Modeller with the Arup Structural layer scheme, on the project.

3.Copy the 'Triforma' folder inside the selected product/layer std folder to the Settings\CADtools_Ustn\' folder in the job area.
e.g. Copy
P:\Program Files\Oasys\CADtools_Ustn\Apps\Triforma_V8i\Project Setup\BSTR_ArupStructLayers\Triforma\
to
J:\123000\123456-00\Settings\CADtools_Ustn\Triforma\

4.This will copy a number of required files for the appropriate product into the project folder.

5.If a number of Bentley Building products will be used on a project, it is possible to merge copies of the relevant product/layer standard folders from P: drive.  Some files and folders (such as the ‘tf_si’ and ‘floors’ folder exist in a number of the datasets.  At the start of a project, these can be safely copied over each other as they are the same files.  If however, a project has been running for a while using Structural Modeller, and then some modelling is required in Bentley Mechanical, then the existing files should not be overwritten when copying in the dataset required to support BBMS.

As noted in Section 3.2 of this manual, a typical CAD project should include the ‘Settings’ folder for use by CADtools AutoCAD & MicroStation, which includes a ‘CADtools_Ustn’ folder exclusively for the use of CADtools for MicroStation.

Eg.                J:\123000\123456-00\Settings\CADtools_Ustn\...

After copying the Triforma folder above, the structure should be

Eg.                J:\123000\123456-00\Settings\CADtools_Ustn\Trifroma\
