The CAD requirements of a project should be assessed prior to commencement of work. This is essential in order to setup “CADtools MicroStation” correctly and to minimise any problems that may occur during the life of a project. The CAD Manager should liaise as early as possible with the Project Manager and / or third parties to determine the needs of a project.
A “Project Workspace” may be needed if the project requires specific customisation. The table below is a guide to help assess the need.

The above is not an exhaustive list, but highlights the items that regularly tend to be required. If any are needed, then a custom project workspace should be created. If not, then use the “General” project workspace supplied with CADtools MicroStation.
Note: A project workspace can be used to augment or totally replace the CADtools MicroStation environment.
