Choosing what level of detail to include in your 3D model can have a significant effect on both the time taken to create the model, as well as the time taken to generate 2D documentation, or process the file. In order to minimise wasted effort it is recommended that you try and establish the exact output you require from your 3D model. For example, if it is proposed that you are going to use the model for construction time lining then it would beneficial to model as would be constructed.
