You have been directed to this page because the Project configuration file (PCF) you selected either:
a) Requires all CAD users to be using a particular version of Microstation, and you are not using that version
or
b) Does not define which Microstation version to use, and you are using Microstation v8i or later.
What should I do?
•If you have selected the correct 'Project' but used the wrong version of Microstation, simply restart the correct version of Microstation and select the correct Project.
•If you have selected the correct 'Project', and you believe you are using the correct version of Microstation, please speak to your local CAD manager to confirm this is correct.
You will not be stopped from using Microstation, but you should heed the messages carefully and check with your local CAD manager.
CADtools Microstation 2.4 and later includes the ability for CAD managers to configure a project to work with a specific version of Microstation.
This logic works on the basis of "one PCF file per project, one Microstation version per project"
When CADtools starts up, it will check the value of the config variable CADTOOLS_PROJECT_USTN_VERSION.
This variable can (currently) have 3 values:
•V82004
•XM
•V8I
If this variable is defined in the PCF file, then CADtools will issue appropriate warning messages if other versions of Microstation are launched with that PCF file
When the General (Meters) or General (mm) workspace is selected, users will not receive any warning messages, but this also means there is no way to determine if they are using the right version of Microstation.
New projects setup using the template PCF file (P:\Program Files\Oasys\CADtools_USTN\Common\Columbus\Example_PCF.txt) released with CADtools Microstation 2.4 will already contain a definition for CADTOOLS_PROJECT_USTN_VERSION.
Simply edit that definition to be one of the valid choices.
For existing projects with a PCF file, it may be desirable to edit that PCF to positively identify which Microstation version is required for that project. To achieve that, simply copy one of the following two lines into your PCF file.
