Drawings - Working with Drawing Frames

 

 

 

A guidance note has been produced that provides the typically work flow for the creation and editing of drawings and recommends best practice were appropriate. A schematic summary is detailed below.

Tip - Level Manipulation / Override should be performed in "Sheet". It is from the "Sheet" model that the finished drawing is produced, i.e. WYSIWYG

 

 

 

Drawing creation

Default Model

Sheet Model

 

i) New file

ii) Ref models

iii) Insert mock border

iv) Create drawing

v) Complete drawing

• Create new DGN file

• Attach model(s)

• Insert mock border
• Clip ref file(s)

• Create drawing

• Complete drg titles
• Set level display for all files (View Display)
• Set level overrides
• Add notes, etc.

 

Level Display - Update / Change

 

 

• Set levels via Level Display (View Display)

 

Level Override - Update / Change

 

 

• Set level overrides via Level Manager

 

Add new models to drawing (Reference files)

 

 

• Attach model(s)

• Clip ref file(s)

 

• Set levels via Level Display (View Display)
• Set level overrides via Level Manager

 

Show new content in models (Reference files)

 

 

• Switch levels on via Level Display (View Display)
• Set level overrides via Level Manager
