Families and parts form the basis of the Triforma and Bentley Structural software. When modelling your elements care must be taken to ensure that the right Family and Part are being applied to that element as you place it. Care must also be taken to ensure that resymbolisation rules are applied to the correct family and parts. The ‘Triforma > Verify parts’ tool (from the window menu) will allow you to check that all your elements have an assigned Family and Part (a useful pre-extraction check)
Don’t be afraid to add more parts to your families. This can be an extremely powerful way of controlling both your model and data output.
