Bentley Structural can export to IFC2x3 format and the 8.9.3 versions of the Bentley Building applications have gained IFC accreditation for 2x3. These export/import routines rely on an IFC mapping file to translate from the common IFC entities to Bentley Structural’s ‘Family and Parts’. A typical IFC mapping configuration is delivered with CADtools Structural.

In CADtools Bentley Structural v8 2004, these commands have been un-intentionally hidden in the window menu. They should appear at ‘File > Import > IFC’ or ‘File > Export > IFC’. To access these tools, use the keyins, either ‘ifcin’ or ‘ifcout’. This problem does not affect CADtools 2.1 for Bentley Structural XM 8.9.4.
