Bentley Structural Modeller > Integration with Analysis

For steelwork models, DXF import/export is the most basic interchange format for many analysis packages, especially if the model is broken down into ‘layers’ by either section size or section size and function of the member. A DXF imported into Bentley Structural can be easily ‘skinned’ by applying a section size to the wire-frame centrelines of multiple elements.

To generate a wireframe model from the Bentley Structural elements within a model, use the ‘CADtools > Structural Tools > Wireframe from Struct’ tool. This will generate line elements on the active level for each of the Bentley Structural elements in the model.
