Bentley Structural is a structural engineering specific environment which is built upon the ‘Triforma’ application base. It shares this common base with other discipline specific applications such as Bentley Architectural, Bentley Building Systems and Bentley Electrical Systems.
By using a common ‘Triforma’ base the discipline specific applications are able to share configuration data and interact with each other in a co-ordinated manner. CADtools Structural aims to retain this common base.
One by-product of this arrangement is that occasionally you will see reference to a ‘Triforma element’ and a ‘Structural element’, or ‘Structural data’ vs. ‘Triforma data’.
Structural also makes available tools to promote a ‘Triforma element’ to a ‘Structural element’.
