Modifying the ‘Summary’ table.

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

The Bentley delivered spreadsheet includes a useful sheet named ‘Summary’.  This gives a summary of certain columns (weight, length, number of) as group by 2 other columns (section name and part).  This sheet is just a standard Excel ‘Pivot table’ which you can modify to suit.  A commonly desired modification is to replace the ‘Section name’ by the mark’, or indeed have both appear.

To edit the Pivot Table, right click one of the cells in that table, and select “PivotTable Wizard”.  Then click the “Layout” button to edit the layout of the table.

From the “layout” dialog you can drag columns into and out of the pivot table to customise.
