Summary:
Creates a Paperspace viewport based on the area ‘clipped’ in Modelspace
Description:
Adds the clips to the paper space drawing. If there is more than one layout, the user is asked to select one from the pop-up list. After the clips have been defined, the user must use the ADDCLIP function to assemble the defined clips in Paper Space.
Command: ADDCLIP
Regenerating layout.
Select layout [Layout1/LAyout2] <Layout1> : Pick layout
PSPACE
You are now in Paper Space.
Select CLIP file : Browse to directory and select .pwc file
The current drawing scale is 1:100
Enter the plotted scale of the clip, <100> 200 <Return>
Move clip to desired position in Paper Space:
Put Paper Space Viewport on LMS VPORT layer? <y> y <Return>
MSPACE
You are now in Model Space PSPACE
You are now in PSPACE
Command:
In this example the clip myclip1.pwc was inserted in paper space at a plotted scale of 1:200. The clip was inserted on the viewports Layer ?040LX000 (? being the currently set LMS discipline) because the default of Y was accepted to insert on layer VPORT.
The drawing is left with the current layer set to 0. The clip box has a text reference at the bottom left hand corner of the box - this gives the clip name and the scale at which the clip was inserted. If you do not want the box or the text to be visible when the drawing is plotted you should turn the relevant layer OFF. Do not freeze the layer as this causes problems with the AddClip routine if subsequent clips are added.
TECHNICAL NOTE: The ADDCLIP command leaves the user in PSPACE and the current working layer will be the VPORT layer ?040LX000.Users should try and restrict the number of viewports to a maximum of four ( Autodesk recommendation ) because AutoCAD creates a new display list for each Viewport, regeneration times are affected seriously with multiple Viewports.
