The rules delivered with CADtools Structural have been named using a convention which attempts to match the CSN layering standard naming convention. This convention is as follows:
Example rule name: SS_COLS_SECT_A_NAME
Code |
Explanation |
Other example codes |
SS |
2 letter code for Structural Steel |
SC, SR, ST as per layer standard |
COLS |
4 letter code for element being resymbolised |
BEAM, BMSC, TRUS, PURL as per layer standard |
SECT |
4 or 5 letter code for how the element will be represented |
OUTL (double line diagram) and FRMG (single line diagram, full member length, suitable for welded end connections) |
A |
Single letter code to indicate that the rule annotates the element |
None |
NAME |
Names of the attribute fields that are used for annotation |
MARK, USER1, USER2 etc |
The description of the rule then gives some hints about how any annotation will be laid out, e.g. “Column Footprint + Name @ Top Left Horiz”. The naming scheme is also extensible, so rules which produce multiple annotation items can be described e.g. SS_BEAM_ELEV_A_NAME_MARK
See Appendix A for a table showing the available rules.
If project specific rules are required, these should have the project number appended to the name, e.g. 99999_SS_COLS_A_USER1
