Validation of the file

Previous pageReturn to chapter overviewNext page

One of the most useful features of the ProjectWizard is the validation, which will provide you with feedback about the CADtools products will handle the file you are editing. validation is refreshed as you are making changes to the file, so you will see items on the validation tree change status.

Validation messages are described as:

Errors - Something you really should fix
Warnings - Something you should look at, but the data may actually be correct
Informational - Something that may be useful to know, but it not considered a warning.

Each validation message is also divided into the application it affects, e.g AutoCAD only, Microstation only, or all Applications (both Acad and Ustn and Columbus).

Double-clicking on a validation message will (where possible) take you to the relevant data and highlight it in red.

Where possible, validation messages also provide more detail about the problem, or describe how to fix it. By double clicking on an item in the list, the related control is being highlighted and shown.
