During the pilot rollout of the nightly automation system, a number of best practices have emerged.
1.It may be advisable to create View Sets and Print Configurations which are explicitly used by the nightly automation.
This helps the modelling team understand that those ViewSets or PrintConfigurations should not be altered.
2.It's advised to not use a date or time as part of the filename that is created. This would quickly fill up the servers.
3.A number of teams have created two folder in the project area 'Current Set' and 'Nightly Set'.
This allows for a human intervention step, where drawings or outputs can be moved from the 'Nightly set' over to the 'Current Set', but it also lets anyone browse the 'Nightly Set' with the understanding that the data is work in progress.
