Debugging a "Compile Error in hidden module: xxxxxx" error message"

This problem usually arises when both XM and v8-2004 are both installed, yet for some reason your PC is unable to correctly determine which version has been started up. This may be related to either:

1.Your user account doesn't have at least 'Power User' status on the PC. We believe that all Arup accounts should have Power User status, but it might be worth checking with IT that your user account has 'Power User' status

2.  You have launched v8 2004 and XM at the same time, and they've gotten themselves in a bit of a twist. Where possible you should limit the times when you are running both versions at once.

3.  Occasional other errors.

To check things are ok, please do the following:

1.Close all versions of Microstation or other Bentley software

2.  Open the v8 2004 version

3.   Run the program in the attached zip file. Media:UstnVbaLibTest.zip It will ask you to save a text file, simply save the file as v82004.txt to your desktop

4.   Close v8 2004

5.   Run XM (note: do not start XM until v8 2004 is completely closed)

6.   Re-run the program from the zip file, and save the text file as XM.txt

7.   Send the text files to the relevant CADtools.* email address (e.g. CADtools.Microstation or CADtools.Bentley_Structural). This will help determine if your PC is correctly determining which version is running
